Overview
The Cost Controller supports project teams by ensuring effective cost management, reporting, and analysis throughout the project lifecycle. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate cost records, assisting with forecasting, and collaborating with project controls and finance teams to optimize project outcomes.
Your role
- Ensure project setup aligns with established Project Controls processes and procedures.
- Monitor, control, and report on program and project performance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in identifying cost control solutions and provide recommendations to help meet project objectives and optimize costs.
- Support timely and accurate updates to cost reports at the end of each reporting period for project control accounts.
- Track actuals and analyze forecasts to identify trends.
- Prepare regular reports on project cost status and deviations, and recommend remedial actions as needed.
- Ensure proper commitment tracking and reporting for purchase orders (POs).
- Report on project time accumulation, analyze budget variances, and support corrective actions.
- Ensure PMET reporting is accurate, current, and supported by variance explanations.
- Provide input for client reporting and assist with the preparation of project and business cash flow forecasts.
- Support the change management process as coordinated by Project Control Managers.
- Collaborate with other project controls staff, including Cost Controllers and planners, to maintain an integrated cost-schedule control system.
- Interface with planners to update estimate-to-complete based on deliverable progress.
- Present findings and reports to team members as required.
- Work with the Financial Shared Services Centre (FSSC) to support client invoice processes.
- Perform special assignments, ad hoc reports, and other related duties as required.

About you
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum 2 years of cost control experience in project environments.
- Ability to manage multiple requests and prioritize tasks.
- Experience supporting programs with multiple projects and initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and EcoSYS.
