This role is based out of the Candu Energy Inc. home office in Mississauga, Ontario. Reporting to the Candu Field Services Technical Director, the Technical Manager – Reactor Maintenance will support various reactor maintenance projects and will be responsible for individuals executing such projects and the tooling systems. This manager will provide technical oversight and will lead the technical strategy for Candu Field Services' reactor maintenance programs.
Your role
- Lead technical delivery for client projects by defining engineering approaches, ensuring designs meet customer requirements, and aligning all outputs with nuclear codes, standards, and quality procedures.
- Manage the full design lifecycle—including configuration control, reviews, approvals, and final deliverable quality—ensuring engineering work is accurate, compliant, and technically sound.
- Provide guidance, remove barriers, and support staff in resolving technical challenges while driving optimization and continuous improvement.
- Approve technical documents prepared by engineering staff and ensure adequacy reviews are completed per engineering and QA procedures.
- Support modernization and capability‑growth initiatives aligned with long‑term OEM strategies.
- Forecast resource needs, structure teams, and balance workloads across projects to support staff development and project success.
- Oversee training, qualification records, recruitment, performance feedback, recognition, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Foster strong team culture, mentor junior engineers, and ensure work is executed to meet quality, cost, and schedule expectations.

About you
- Professional Engineering License in Ontario.
- University degree in engineering or science.
- 10+ years progressive nuclear experience.
- Experience working in Canadian licensed nuclear facilities.
- Expertise in nuclear tooling design and inspection.
- Strong leadership, communication, and client focus.
- Willingness to travel to project sites.
