Overview
The L3 position is an intermediate level position for candidates who are experienced in the nuclear sector. Functionally reporting to the Technical Resources manager, the employee will be assigned to Sheridan Park. The role of the employees will be to immediately integrate into a project of varying complexity and work productively in the nuclear industry.
Your role
- Set up and commission automated and robotic tooling, including configuration of mock‑ups for functional testing.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and perform functional testing on Siemens drives, PLCs, and automated/robotic tooling systems.
- Conduct refurbishments, preventative maintenance, and repairs for automated and robotic tooling and associated control systems.
- Assemble and maintain machine control systems, electrical control panels, and cable assemblies for tooling and test apparatus.
- Perform routine testing, evaluations, and setup of test equipment, including preparation of test reports.
- Update and mark up drawings and documentation to reflect accurate as‑built conditions.
- Identify, recommend, and support design improvements or modifications to robotic/automated control systems and machinery.
- Occasionally work with high‑voltage equipment and in radiation areas, following required safety precautions and safeguards.

About you
- Technologist diploma in Instrumentation & Controls, a College of Trades certificate, or equivalent relevant technical experience, with 5–8 years of hands‑on related work.
- Practical experience with cable assembly, panel wiring, and electrical control system build‑ups.
- Familiarity with Siemens drives, PLC hardware, and control system components; experience with Siemens Step 7 or other platforms (e.g., NI LabView) is an asset.
- Proficient in using electrical test equipment including meggers, multimeters, amp meters, and related diagnostic tools.
- Demonstrated initiative, strong safety awareness, and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Results‑oriented, takes ownership of assigned tasks, and able to work under tight deadlines and financial constraints.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with industrial plant field experience considered an asset.
- Additional assets include forklift and crane operation experience.
