Reporting to the Director of Operations of the Engineering Management practice, the Project Engineering Coordinator will be assigned to support the Project Engineering Manager on large, multi-disciplinary transit projects from the design phase to completion. The role involves contributing to the development of engineering strategies, coordinating design deliverables, and ensuring alignment across technical disciplines and stakeholders.

You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including Project Delivery, Technical TPO, and external stakeholders—to facilitate the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions that meet client expectations. The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a solid foundation in engineering principles, and experience supporting complex infrastructure projects.

Your role

    • Assist in the development and monitoring of the Project Design Execution Plan, ensuring effective interdisciplinary coordination.

    • Assist in the identification and mitigation of risks and resolve any issues or bottlenecks that may impact project timelines or quality.

    • Promote and reinforce safety considerations throughout technical delivery and design coordination.

    • Ensure internal and external scope, schedule, deliverables, and obligations are clearly understood, documented, and tracked.

    • Support the preparation of monthly project reports to the Engineering Management Director and relevant Market or Portfolio Leads.

  • Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:

    • Support the engineering team by facilitating the application of industry best practices, standards, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.

    • Assist in promoting innovation and efficiency across design activities by identifying opportunities for process optimization and knowledge sharing.

    • Coordinate and participate in regular reviews and quality assessments of engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.

    • Help foster a Value Engineering culture throughout the project lifecycle by supporting cost-effective and performance-driven design decisions.

    • Maintain awareness of in-scope deliverables, monitor changes, and support change management processes in collaboration with project and technical leads.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration:

    • Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure project success.

    • Engage in effective communication, providing regular engineering updates, addressing concerns, and managing expectations to foster strong client relationships.

    • Actively participate in meetings, presentations, and technical discussions, representing the engineering team and providing expert insights and recommendations.
