Your role
Perform and/or supervise the following calculations: Finite-reactor-core calculations, Kinetics calculations, Advanced-fuel-cycle calculations, Monte Carlo calculations.
Prepare inputs, run reactor physics computer codes
Develop, adapt and modify FORTRAN computer codes as required for specific applications (e.g., to implement new methods or perform new types of calculations)
Develop methodologies and perform reactor physics analyses to support design and commercial activities
Document analyses in technical notes and reports, and present results at meetings
Estimate, monitor schedules and assign work to meet completion dates Perform varied work assignments effectively and respond quickly to changing project needs
Propose/develop approaches to be used on reactor physics tasks
Develop analysis basis plans

About you
Masters degree (or equivalent) or higher from a university of recognized standing in Physics or Nuclear Engineering or equivalent;
Experience of CANDU reactor physics
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience (experience obtained in advanced degree programs will be considered for applicability against this requirement)
Experience with reactor physics codes such as WIMS, DRAGON, RFSP and/or MCNP
Experience with MCNP nuclear data library creation
Experience with few energy group constants from MCNP
Experience of uncertainty assessment
Knowledge of light water reactors, and small modular reactors is desirable
Must be conversant with computer environments; proficiency in both Linux and WINDOWS environments is a strong asset
Proficiency in computer programming, especially FORTRAN, C++ are very desirable Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

Overview
We are seeking a Reactor Physicist to be part of our team in the Fuel and Physics department supporting the design of new nuclear power plants and the operation, refurbishment, or waste management and decommissioning of existing CANDU nuclear power plants. The Intermediate Reactor Physicist will work under senior staff to perform technical analysis using up-to-date reactor physics codes, such as WIMS, DRAGON, RFSP and MCNP.
