Project Manager, Municipal Infrastructure

Overview

As a key member of our Municipal Infrastructure Group in the Engineering, Design and Project Management Division for Central Canada, you will thrive in a dynamic, team-oriented environment. You will have the opportunity to lead road design projects and proposals while collaborating with experts in civil, structural, traffic, environmental, geotechnical, foundations, geomatics, rail, and electrical design.

Your role

Our Municipal infrastructure team is looking for a dedicated Project Manager to join our growing team. To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of road infrastructure projects with a focus on municipal clients, ensuring adherence to project deadlines, budgets, and quality standards within the Greater Toronto Area. Provide mentorship and coaching to junior staff, fostering professional development and team collaboration.
  • Drive the preparation of compelling proposals in response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), effectively articulating technical solutions and project strategies to prospective clients.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for municipal clients, maintaining strong relationships and communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, designers, and construction personnel, to ensure seamless project delivery and compliance with design specifications.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans.
  • Conduct regular project review meetings, provide guidance and support to team members, and ensure QA/QC processes are followed throughout the project.
  • Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, address any project concerns, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering (or a related field) from a recognized institution. Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in civil engineering and project management, particularly in municipal road & utility infrastructure. Proven track record in leading and managing civil engineering projects from concept through completion, with expertise in road design projects in the Region of York, Region of Peel and the City of Toronto. In-depth understanding of Ontario transportation design standards, municipal client requirements, and environmental regulations.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project) and knowledge of design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation).
  • Effective leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork and client-service focus. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to clients and stakeholders.
  • A valid Ontario Class G Driver's License is required.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $120,000 - $150,000 annually (Only Applicable to Ontario). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
