Overview

We are currently seeking a Quality Engineer (Site Operations) to join our growing team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects adhere to all quality control and quality assurance procedures on-site. The role involves collaborating closely with the site management team, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications, standards, and regulations.

Your role

Quality Control

  • Implement and monitor quality control processes for construction activities on-site, ensuring that work is performed in accordance with approved plans, drawings, and specifications.

Inspection & Testing

  • Perform site inspections and coordinate testing of materials, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with quality standards. Record and report results accurately.

Non-Conformance Management

  • Identify and document any deviations or non-conformance issues. Work closely with site teams to resolve quality-related issues and ensure corrective and preventive actions are taken.

Documentation

  • Maintain clear, accurate records of inspections, tests, reports, and non-conformance issues. Prepare and submit regular quality control reports to project managers and senior management.

Collaboration with Contractors

  • Liaise with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure quality standards are met during construction and to resolve any quality-related concerns.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support internal and external audits to ensure compliance with project specifications, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., ISO 9001).

Continuous Improvement

  • Assist in identifying areas for improvement in quality processes and contribute to initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall quality of project delivery.

Client Liaison

  • Ensure that all quality-related concerns from clients and stakeholders are addressed promptly and professionally. Support client inspections and reviews as required.

Training & Support

  • Provide quality awareness training to site teams, ensuring that all personnel are familiar with the project's quality requirements and procedures.

About you

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, with at least 2-3 years of experience in site-based roles within construction projects in the UAE or GCC region.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), construction industry standards, and ISO 9001.
  • Experience with material testing, site inspections, and quality assurance processes.
  • Familiarity with construction materials and their properties, as well as inspection techniques.

Communication Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear and accurate reports. Strong interpersonal skills for liaising with site teams, contractors, and clients.

Problem Solving

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, propose solutions, and follow through on implementation.

Attention to Detail

  • High attention to detail and the ability to ensure compliance with quality standards across all aspects of the construction process.

Computer Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software (e.g., Procore, Aconex, etc.).

Language Skills

  • Proficiency in English (both written and spoken). Arabic is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, or CQI).
  • Knowledge of UAE construction regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience with large-scale construction projects, including commercial, residential, or infrastructure developments.
  • Familiarity with sustainable construction practices and standards (e.g., LEED, Estidama).
