Verification and Validation Lead

Overview

The Verification and Validation Lead is a key leadership role within the Calgary Delivery Partner team for the Calgary Green Line SE Segment project. This position is responsible for planning, managing, and executing all verification and validation activities across the Green Line Project.

Your role

Technical:

  • Maintain the Program Verification & Validation Plan in accordance with systems engineering standards (e.g., EN 50126 / ISO 15288).
  • Define V&V scope, objectives, acceptance criteria, methods, and responsibilities across the project lifecycle.
  • Establish the requirements-to-test traceability framework.
  • Lead verification activities for system, subsystem, and interface requirements covering but not limited to:
    • Signaling and train control.
    • Rolling stock.
    • Power supply (traction power, substations).
    • Communications systems.
    • Stations, platforms, track, and other interfaces.

About you

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Systems, Mechanical, Mechatronics, or related discipline). P.Eng. designation or eligibility for registration is an asset.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering on major rail/transit, infrastructure, or complex systems projects.
  • Strong background in V&V and understanding of the overall CENELEC suite of standards.
  • Strong command of systems engineering principles, tools, and methodologies (e.g., DOORS NG or equivalent).
