Saudi Arabia has placed infrastructure at the center of its 2030 Vision, and transport in Riyadh is high on the transformation agenda. Riyadh is a fast-growing city and over the past 25 years, the development of high-capacity road infrastructure has made cars the preferred and almost sole means of transport. With its 6 lines extending over 176 kilometers, it stands as one of the largest urban transport projects in the world. This metro system is designed to provide efficient, reliable, and eco-friendly transportation options to Riyadh residents and visitors. By significantly reducing traffic congestion, the metro contributes to the city’s economic growth and environmental sustainability.

The Dubai Metro is a landmark urban transportation project that introduced a state-of-the-art, automated and driverless rail system to enhance public transit in Dubai. The Dubai Metro includes 45 stations, 15 km of tunnel and 45 pedestrian bridges. As one of the largest metro systems in the world, the project alleviates traffic congestion, reduces carbon emissions, and provides a reliable and efficient means of transportation for the growing population of Dubai.

The Doha Metro forms an integral part of Qatar’s 2030 Vision and was a key part of the infrastructure for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Phase 1 consisted of ~65 km of tunnel and 32 underground stations. AtkinsRéalis served as preliminary designers for QVDC JV on Red Line and preliminary + lead detailed designers for ALYSJ JV on Gold Line.
