Overview

The Director of Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) will lead and oversee all safety, health, and environmental management activities across road and infrastructure. The role ensures compliance with regulations, promotes a safe working culture, and implements sustainable practices to protect workers, communities, and the environment.

Your role

  • Develop and implement SHE policies, procedures, and management systems.
  • Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and international standards.
  • Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation planning.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure adherence to safety and environmental requirements.
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations, recommending corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility across all project teams.
  • Provide training and awareness programs for employees and contractors.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to integrate SHE practices into project execution.
  • Oversee emergency preparedness and response planning.
  • Prepare reports and present SHE performance metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety, health, and environmental practices.

About you

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Extensive experience in SHE leadership roles within road and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards.
  • Proven expertise in risk management, audits, and incident investigation.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication and training abilities to promote safety culture.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure compliance across diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in SHE management systems, reporting tools, and MS Office.
  • Commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement.
