Intermediate Structural Engineer

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Overview

The Structural Building team is currently looking for a motivated and skilled Intermediate Structural Engineer to support the growth of the local office. This position is based out of our Vancouver office working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team.

Your role

  • Actively participate in the design and preparation of plans and specifications (steel, concrete, wood, masonry, etc.).
  • Conduct studies, surveys, technical reports and structural inspections.
  • Supervise the execution of structural work during the construction phase.
  • Ensure that the engineering work is produced according to the quality standards of the industry and respect the National Building Code and British Columbia Building Code.
  • Coordinate projects that impact your structural design with the other disciplines (mechanical, electrical, architecture, process, etc.).
  • Maintain and develop client and stakeholder relationships.

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. Master's Degree in Structural Engineering is an asset.
  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) with EGBC (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Minimum five (5) years of previous related experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong experience with structural design software (ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, etc.).
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to entry-level engineers.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage changing priorities.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
