Overview

Principle Mechanical Engineer (HVAC) – Qualified with experience in the MENA zone within construction field systems in design and supervision. Candidates shall have solid experience in design and design review of HVAC networks for various types of buildings.

Your role

  • Ability to lead a team and create plans for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines through periodical meetings.
  • Technically competent and able to use engineering judgement independently to determine solutions.
  • Prepare early design concepts and assign mechanical space requirements, prepare design drawings and calculations.
  • Prepare technical reports and contractual documents of acceptable technical and presentational quality with minimum guidance.
  • Apply new ideas/digital solutions to improve efficiency.
  • Receive on-the-job technical training through performing tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Good knowledge of work procedures and ensure work adheres to procedures.
  • Responsible for completing specifically assigned tasks on time and within budget.
  • Able to work as a reliable and proactive member of the team and able to apply gained knowledge.
  • Able to work on several projects and communicate clearly with a range of people, including making presentations. Flexible and enthusiastic; team player.
  • Conversant with MS Office tools.
  • Experience working on MENA projects is a must.
  • Review technical material submittals, shop drawings, contractor bids, and specifications.
  • Support and mentor others, with the possibility of formal line management responsibilities.
  • Opportunity to present project work at company meetings or conferences.

About you

  • Must have 10 to 15 years of experience.
  • A sound understanding of mechanical engineering principles and their application in HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, and pumping stations.
  • Experience in producing design documentation and drawings including optioneering reports and specifications of mechanical systems.
  • Experience in producing design calculations for mechanical systems.
  • Familiar with national and international design codes and standards appropriate for the industry.
  • Ability to produce hydraulic calculations for mechanical equipment, datasheets/specifications, and schedules.
  • Conversant with various HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting mechanical equipment.
  • Experience in pipe and duct sizing calculations, pump sizing, tank calculations, cooling load calculations, static pressure calculations.
  • Able to produce general arrangement drawings for piping and mechanical equipment, isometric drawings, P&IDs, PFDs, etc.
  • Software: AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Elite are essential; working knowledge of 3D models such as Navisworks.

  • Excellent communication and listening skills.
  • Flexible with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to write professional reports.
  • Identifies and communicates concerns to immediate supervisor.
  • Discusses career goals and aspirations.
  • Able to draft responses to straightforward queries.
