Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Inspector to support the construction supervision and quality assurance activities for major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale building developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting mechanical works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements throughout construction, testing, commissioning, and handover phases.
Your role
- Conduct inspections of mechanical installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and applicable codes and standards.
- Review Inspection Requests (IRs) submitted by contractors and perform timely inspections.
- Verify that materials and equipment installed on site are approved and conform to project requirements.
- Monitor mechanical construction activities and identify quality issues, defects, or non-conformances.
- Ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified before work approval.
- Review contractor method statements and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) related to mechanical works.
- Coordinate inspections with QA/QC teams, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Maintain inspection records, site reports, punch lists, and quality documentation.
- Verify installation of pumps, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, cooling towers, ventilation systems, generators interfaces, and associated equipment.
- Inspect pipework installations, supports, insulation, valves, and mechanical accessories.
- Monitor compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements during mechanical works.
- Participate in snagging, de-snagging, and handover inspections.
- Review as-built documentation and operation & maintenance manuals.
- Report progress, deficiencies, and inspection findings to senior engineers and project management.
- Support testing, commissioning, and final acceptance activities.
- Assist in resolving site-related technical issues and construction discrepancies.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with approved quality procedures and contract requirements.

About you
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Certification in Mechanical Inspection or Quality Control is preferred.
- Registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is an advantage.
- ASHRAE, CIBSE, or relevant MEP certifications are desirable.
- Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures is preferred.
- 5 to 10 years of professional experience in mechanical inspection and construction supervision.
- Minimum 3 years of experience on high-rise and large-scale building projects.
- Previous Saudi Arabia or GCC experience is highly preferred.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, contractors, or developers.
- Experience in construction, testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
- Familiarity with inspection procedures, testing protocols, and construction quality standards.
