Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Overview

Join a world-class engineering team shaping the future of major airport infrastructure in Canada. As part of our Airports group within AtkinsRéalis' Engineering Services, you'll work with passionate planners, engineers, and innovators dedicated to designing smarter, safer, and more efficient air transport systems.
This is a unique opportunity to play a strategic leadership role on one of the most significant airport development programs underway in the country—driving complex planning activities that will influence passenger experience, operational efficiency, and long-term capacity.

Your role

  • Supports planning for waste (and circularity) programs, including terminal waste, outbuildings waste, construction waste and circular construction, and off-aircraft waste.

  • Supports planning for water resilience programs, including stormwater, water conservation, and water quality.

  • Confirms proper handling, recycling, disposal, and removal of waste materials, including hazardous wastes, at the construction sites.

  • Confirms that the design considers self-sustaining circular ecosystems and infrastructure requirements, water harnessing to aid in irrigation and stormwater management, innovative solutions to waste and pollution management, and the reduction of the overall carbon footprint.

  • Coordinates with Stakeholder Relations and Communications (SR&C) and external stakeholders on all areas of sustainability strategy.

  • Confirms that the overall program and design strategy includes all relevant sustainability requirements and responds to the principles of a sustainable development, and occupant lifestyle and well-being.

  • Confirms that the approach to the relevant works is consistent with the Canadian airport's vision and strategy for a sustainable, carbon-positive, and environmentally friendly future.

  • Coaching, mentoring, and supporting the career development of Client staff.
