Overview
As a Principal BIM Coordinator (Building Services), you will lead and support the coordination of discipline models and digital information across complex projects, ensuring delivery aligns with the BIM Execution Plan (BEP), ISO 19650 and agreed organisational standards.
You will play a key role in driving high‑quality model coordination, fostering collaboration, and improving digital delivery practices across multidisciplinary building services teams. Working closely with Regional BIM Leads/Managers and project stakeholders, you will champion best practice, mentor others, and contribute to continuous improvement across projects and the wider business.
Your role
- Lead implementation of BIM standards, BEPs and ISO 19650 requirements across building services projects.
- Oversee setup and governance of Revit environments, templates, shared coordinates and content libraries.
- Manage and coordinate federated MEP/building services models, ensuring alignment with project requirements.
- Lead clash detection and coordination workflows (Navisworks, Revizto), driving timely resolution with design teams.
- Review and audit models for quality, compliance, constructability and performance.
- Act as a key technical authority for BIM tools, resolving complex modelling and coordination issues.
- Manage information delivery processes, including TIDPs, risk/issue logs and coordination reporting.
- Ensure robust version control, information management and integration within CDE platforms (e.g. ProjectWise, ACC, SharePoint).
- Facilitate BIM coordination meetings, workshops and design reviews, ensuring actions are tracked and closed out.
- Mentor and support engineers and technicians, promoting consistent best‑practice workflows.
- Contribute to the development and continual improvement of BIM standards, workflows and digital delivery strategies.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to enhance coordination, data quality and project outcomes.

About you
You will have:
- A degree in building services engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in BIM coordination within building services (MEP), including complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Strong expertise in Autodesk Revit and model coordination tools (e.g. Navisworks, Revizto).
- Proven experience managing federated models and leading clash detection and coordination activities.
- In‑depth knowledge of ISO 19650, BEP development and implementation, and information management principles.
- Experience working with enterprise Common Data Environments (e.g. ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud, SharePoint).
- Strong understanding of building services design workflows and deliverables.
- Ability to interrogate models and produce high‑quality drawings, views and technical outputs.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and leadership skills.
- A proactive, solution‑focused mindset with strong attention to detail.
- Experience mentoring or leading others within a BIM or digital engineering environment.
- Exposure to automation or scripting (e.g. Dynamo, Python) would be advantageous.
